Guy Briggs Joins Netlink Board
MADISON HEIGHTS, MICHIGAN (June 16, 2008)
 
Netlink today announced the appointment of Guy D. Briggs, senior strategy officer for ASI Consulting Group and former General Motors Group Vice President, as a member of its Global Advisory Board.

"Guy Briggs's innovative and leadership achievements across GM's manufacturing organization are legendary and are matched with his ongoing concern for the people he works with," Dilip Dubey, Netlink CEO said. In his new role, Briggs becomes the fifth member of the Netlink Board of Advisors.

Briggs, a veteran of 45 years of General Motors manufacturing experience, retired in 2006 as Group Vice President of Manufacturing and Labor Relations for North America. A native of Flint, he graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in economics in l960 and an MBA in l961 before beginning his GM career.

At GM, he held several different supervisory and management positions at the Flint Manufacturing Plant, Saginaw Parts Plant, Saginaw Manufacturing Plant, and Saginaw Grey Iron Casting Plant. He was promoted to Plant Manager at the Parma, Ohio, Pressed Metal Plant and the Chevrolet Flint Engine Plant before being named Regional Manufacturing Manager and Acting General Manufacturing Manager for Chevrolet. He was then promoted to Manufacturing Manager for the former Chevrolet-Pontiac-Canada (CPC) Group and in l985, was elected Vice President of Manufacturing Operations for Saturn.

In 1991, Guy was elected Vice President of GM and Group Director of Operations for the GM Truck group, then General Manager of the Troup Group, General Manager of Vehicle Manufacturing and Vice President of Manufacturing.

Briggs also serves as a member and Vice Chair Person of the Flint Bishop International Airport Authority Board of Directors, as an advisor to the CKGP PW & Associates, Inc., Board of Directors, as a member of the Oakland County Traffic Improvement Association Board of Directors and as Board Member of the Flint Area Tall Pine Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
